About Ed Knight
Founder’s background
Before he formed his graphic design company in Richmond, Virginia, in 1983, Knight spent 10 years in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Steamboat Springs, Colorado, doing design and illustration work. He holds a bachelor of science degree in advertising from Virginia Commonwealth University.
He and his wife, Patti Jo, share their home with a cockatiel and a cat. They have two daughters and a granddaughter. He is an avid outdoorsman who is passionate about Smallmouth Bass and the rivers that they live in.
Community involvement
Communications Art & Design is a member of the Home Builders Association of Richmond and James River Trade Exchange. Knight serves on the board of Friends of Bryan Park, was a founding board member of the Greater Richmond Environmental Action Trust, and is a member of the Old Dominion Smallmouth Club. Knight served as Creative Services Director of The Business Networker, a monthly business-to-business publication. He also has donated his creative talents to various non-profit organizations.
